How to Make Your Lipstick Last All Day

How to Make Your Lipstick Last All Day

For us girls, no matter which brand we use, the top priority is to make our lipstick last. That’s why I thought it’s good to share a couple of steps on how to make your favorite lipstick last all day (and night) long, regardless of the color or brand.

Step 1: Exfoliate

Surprised? The secret of smooth, supple, and rosy lips is exfoliation. Dry and cracked lips is a poor canvass for a fabulous lip color. Exfoliate and keep your lips hydrated before going to bed. Make it a part of your night face routine and you’ll see a big difference in no time. Check out IntoTheGloss’s best lip scrubs list, as well as a DIY suggestion.

Step 2: Use Concealer

This is one of the best-kept secrets of makeup artists. Patting some concealer on your lips is similar to putting primer on your eyelids – it makes color lasts. Using concealer as a foundation on your lips will help set it and it will make your lipstick more vibrant because concealer gives your lips a neutral base.

Step 3: Apply a lip liner

Lining the outer lines of your pout creates a barrier so your lipstick won’t bleed. This is a popular technique among makeup artists. It’s a crucial technique but often forgotten.

Step 4: Use a lip brush

A lip brush gives you more precision when applying your choice of lip color. It isn’t necessary especially if you are travelling but it’s definitely a must-have for girls who panic at the slightest sight of lipstick bleeding.

Step 5: Blot

Grab a tissue paper and lightly blot your lips to get rid of any excess oil and product. Do this after you first applied your lip color.

Step 6: Apply last coat of color

Right after blotting, once your first swipe have set, apply your second and last coat for the finishing touch and you’re good to go.

3 Tips For Healthy Lashes

3 Tips For Healthy Lashes

Killer lashes help you get that wide-eyed look. Some people are born with it, but don’t fret if you’re not among the lucky ones.  There are ways on how to grow lavish lashes, and they couldn’t be simpler than these three tips.

  1. Stop the abuse

Just like the hair on your head, the more you tamper with your lashes, the higher the chances you’ll get shedding. Too much mascara and curling weakens the lashes, making them thinner and sparse. So, the first step is to be gentle.

The harsh removal of makeup can cause hairs to break and fall off. The best way to remove your eye makeup quickly and gently is to use soft cotton pads with a gentle eye makeup remover. Do not rub! Instead, press and hold to get rid of your mascara, eye shadow, and liner.

  1. Hydrate

We girls were always told to condition our locks to keep them healthy and soft. The same thing applies to the lashes. Applying moisturizing products like Vaseline or Aquaphor before hitting the sack will keep your lashes strong and thick. If you’re not happy with the length of your strands, castor oil and vitamin e contain fatty acids that help promote hair growth.

Now, there are over the counter eyelash products that promise rapid hair growth but make sure to read the label. Some commercially-sold hair growers may contain harsh chemicals that may cause more harm than good. Check out this DIY Eyelash Growth Serum recipe if you prefer to make your own eyelash grower.

  1.  Eat healthy

Proper nutrition is the ultimate secret to healthier hair. Make sure to incorporate healthy fats such as omega-3 and omega-6 in your diet because hair needs fats to maintain shine and repair breakage.

According to WebMD, here are the top foods for a healthy hair:

  1.       Salmon
  2.       Greek Yoghurt
  3.       Spinach
  4.       Guava
  5.       Iron-fortified cereal
  6.       Poultry
  7.       Sweet potatoes
  8.       Cinnamon
  9.       Eggs
  10.        Oysters
